Non-English speakers
The national learning advice line has been set up by
learndirect to provide non-English speaking people
with access to free information on courses, learning
providers and funding.
The advice line currently caters for three languages
and is available Monday to Friday between the hours
of 9.00 am–5.00 pm:
Punjabi: 0800 093 1333, Sylheti: 0800 093 1444, Somali: 0800 093 1555
If you don't speak English very well, visit the BBC's
Learning English website for help and guidance.
Online resources
If you're inexperienced at using the internet, visit
the BBC's Webwise site. The BBC also has a learning
for adults website that has useful resources, particularly
for basic skills and languages.

Many parents can feel out of touch with their children’s
learning and especially with the internet. Parents
Online is a site which encourages parents to actively
support and encourage their child with learning online.
